Antonio Conte 'wants Man United over Tottenham Hotspur'

After a day of productive talks following Nuno Espirito Santo’s dismissal, Antonio Conte is poised to finalize an agreement to become Tottenham’s head coach on Tuesday.

According to Sky in Italy, former Chelsea manager Conte, who Spurs coveted before appointing Nuno in the summer, has been given an 18-month contract by Tottenham and came in London on Monday for face-to-face negotiations.

Negotiations with the Italian, who has been out of employment since leaving Inter Milan in the summer, reached climax on Monday after Nuno was fired less than five months after taking over as head coach.

Spurs are on the lookout for their fourth permanent manager in three years, following Nuno’s departure
