Sheriff 1-3 Inter Milan
Inter completed the double over Sheriff, defeating them 3-1 in Tiraspol after defeating them by the same scoreline in Milan the day before in the Champions League.
The visitors won thanks to goals from Marcelo Brozovic, Milan Skriniar, and Alexis Sanchez in the second half.
The triumph puts the Italians ahead of Sheriff and into second position, just two points behind Real Madrid, who also won earlier on Wednesday.
RB Leipzig 2-2 PSG
RB Leipzig earned their first point in Group A after a 2-2 draw with PSG.
PSG appeared to be on track to take the lead after Georginio Wijnaldum’s brace (21st and 39th minutes) cancelled out Nkunku’s opener on eight minutes.
However, Dominik Szoboszlai’s penalty in the 92nd minute secured the Bundesliga team a share of the spoils.
PSG are in second place with eight points, while Manchester City sit at the top of the table with nine points.
Liverpool 2-0 Athletico Madrid
Goals from Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane at the begining of the match, both set up by Trent Alexander-Arnold, put the Reds in complete control, and once Felipe was sent off before halftime, there was no way back for the Spanish side.
After the break, Jurgen Klopp’s side could have piled on the pressure, but they squandered a flurry of chances, and Jota had another effort ruled out for offside by the video assistant referee.
Atletico believed they had equalized on a deflected shot by former Reds striker Luis Suarez, but VAR ruled it out for offside, and they never got a comeback.
Man City 4-1 Club Brugge
Manchester City advanced to the Champions League last-16 for the second after a second successive victory over Club Brugge Belgian champions Club Brugge 4-1 at the Etihad on Wednesday night.
Manchester City are within a point of qualifying for the Champions League last-16 after goals from Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, and Gabriel Jesus; John Stones’ own goal had leveled the game.

Borussia Dortmund 1-3 Ajax
With a 3-1 victory over 10-man Borussia Dortmund, Ajax retained their perfect record in the Champions League group stage this season and assured their progression to the knockout stage. However, the game was marred by controversy in the first half, when Mats Hummels was awarded a severe red card.
Despite Hummels’ dismissal, Marco Reus gave the Black and Yellows the lead. Ajax, on the other hand, turned the game around in the second half, winning 3-1 thanks to goals from Dusan Tadic, Sebastien Haller, and Davy Klaassen.
Real Madrid 2-1 Shakhtar
Real Madrid beat Shakhtar Donetsk 2-1 courtesy to a Karim Benzema double with both assists from Vinicius.
Real Madrid’s 1,000th goal in European football’s top club competition was scored by Benzema.
Luka Modric had two wonderful chances to put the hosts ahead early on, but they fell behind after Benzema scored the opener after a startling mix-up between visiting goalkeeper Anatolii Trubin and defender Marlon.
Sporting CP 4-0 Besiktas
Sporting CP won 4-0 over Besiktas in Lisbon, scoring four goals for the second time in as many games in the Champions League. They had crushed the same opponent the previous time out.
The damage was done in the first half at the Jose Alvalade stadium, when Pedro Goncalves scored from the penalty spot to give the hosts the lead. He increased his advantage a few minutes later, and Paulinho made it 3-0 just before halftime.
Even though the game was essentially gone, Pablo Sarabia made it 4-0 early in the second half.
