Dieter Muller

Dieter Muller flagged off his career as dieter Kaster when he made two short appearances for Offenbach in 1972/1973.

Right after that season, he joined FC Cologne and took the surname of his adoptive father.

In six of his eight seasons with cologne, he scored an average of 17goals and also went on to won the league’s top scorer in 1976/1977 where he scored 34 times.

After a mediocre start to Bundesliga with Fortuna Dusseldorf, Klaus’s breakthrough came in 1978/1979 when he scored 22 league goals.

The 22 goals saw him claim the Torjagerkanone as Dusseldorf also qualified to the European cup final where they faced FC Barcelona.

A few years later, he continued to score goals for a local rival, cologne after he moved there. He went on to become the first player to win Bundesliga golden boot for a different clubs in 1982/1983.
