After the draw had to be redone, Paris Saint-Germain will face Real Madrid in the last 16 of the 2021-22 Champions League.
Following the original draw, Les Parisiens were scheduled to face Manchester United, but due to a technical error on UEFA’s part, the teams had to be re-drawn on Monday afternoon.

The Red Devils were initially drawn to face Villarreal, whom they had already played in the group, and were then left out of the option to face Atletico Madrid.

As a result, there will be no last-16 match between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, with PSG battling Los Blancos for a place in the quarter-finals while Man United takes on Atletico.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side finished second in Group A behind Manchester City to qualify for the knockout stages, while Carlo Ancelotti’s side were first in their Group D.

Prior to the re-draw, Real Madrid was scheduled to play Benfica, and they will travel to the Parc des Princes in February before hosting PSG in March.
