According to a report, Chelsea are hoping to send Saul Niguez back to Atletico Madrid for the winter.
The 26-year-old has struggled to make an impression at Stamford Bridge since a nightmare 45-minute debut against Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Despite his poor form since joining on loan on deadline day, a recent report claimed that the Blues have no plans to cut short his loan spell in order to bring out the best in him following the international break.
However, according to a separate Marca report, Thomas Tuchel has not included Saul in his long-term plans and intends to return him to his parent club in January.
According to the report, Atletico are not in a position to accept Saul’s early return because the midfielder’s temporary departure helped them fund Antoine Griezmann’s re-signing.
Saul has only appeared five times for Chelsea this season in all competitions, and his contract with Atletico is not set to expire until 2026.
