Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)

This move appears to be the most likely since the Parisian club appears keen to win the Champions League.

With Messi as a realistic objective, the future of Kylian Mbappe becomes less of a concern this summer, and it may even persuade Nasser Al-Khelaifi to sell the Frenchman to Real Madrid to help cover Messi’s contract.

Thou Mauricio Pochettino has come out to denounce the speculation that Lionel Messi’s arrival at Paris Saint-Germain would force Kylian Mbappe’s exit.

“I have not spoken with [Messi],” Pochettino told a pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s Ligue 1 opener against Troyes. “And [any move] would not mean that Kylian would leave.

“A player of Messi’s caliber, that is what is interesting to me. The club are working on several options, but we must focus on the game with Troyes.

“We know about what happened yesterday. The club is working on the transfer window and on the elements that could come in to improve the team and allow us to achieve our goals.”

This is the ideal scenario for Lionel Messi himself, with a squad that is now built to win the Champions League, where he will likely earn his highest ever professional pay and once again be able to live and play with Neymar, one of his best friends.

Since Lionel Messi exit from Barcelona there have been speculations suggesting a reunion with Former Boss boss Pep Guardiola.

The loss of Barca could have been Man City’s gain, with the club’s Chief Operating Officer Omar Berrada confirming last October that the Citizens would be able to finance a move for Messi.

But here is what Pep Guardiola has to say about Lionel Messi coming to Manchester City Recently.

“We spent £40 million on Jack Grealish,” Guardiola said of the speculation suggesting a reunion with Messi, who he worked with for four memorable years at Barcelona between 2008 and 2012. We paid £100 million and made £60 million.

“He will wear the No.10 because we were convinced with Grealish and we were convinced Leo would continue at Barcelona, so right now he is not in our thoughts.”

Guardiola added on the best player he has had the pleasure of working with: “It looked like it finished well in terms of him continuing with Barcelona. It was a surprise for everyone – me included.

“The president was clear today. I didn’t speak with the player or the president so I don’t know what has happened but as a supporter of the club I would love for him to have finished there, but today the club needs to be sustainable and what happened in the last year was really not good.

“As a fan, I have incredible gratitude for the most extraordinary player I have seen in my life, for the titles he helped to [win for] Barcelona, to help me personally to go to Munich and then to England.

“More than that, the incredible amount of feelings and actions in front of the TV and watching what he can do with the ball, with his mates in one football game.

“Day by day, game by game, every three days he made something unique. All I can say is thank you so much for bringing Barcelona to another level, allowing Barcelona to dominate the world for a decade, and I wish him the best for the last few years of his career.

“He will not be forgotten. Hopefully one day we can say the best ever because he deserves it.

“If president Laporta arrives in this situation, he should do it unfortunately because someone before didn’t do well.”

This adds Chelsea to the list of possible clubs the Argentine could be headed to.

Messi once “secretly” agreed to join Chelsea for £208 million back in 2014, but the move fell through after his dad and agent Jorge Messi found out about these informal talks.

Chelsea will have to go head to head with PSG once more this summer who are a strong contender in signing the football legend. and after missing out on Achraf Hakimi to the French club earlier in the window.
