Xavi has apparently chosen the two players he wants to bring to Barcelona, with the Spaniard appearing to be closing in on the manager’s job at Camp Nou.
Barcelona fired Ronald Koeman as head coach on Wednesday night and are expected to select their former midfielder, who is now in charge of Al Sadd, as their new boss.
Xavi is already thinking about life at Camp Nou, according to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, and has listed Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Sevilla’s Jules Kounde as transfer targets.
Sterling is reportedly sought to play on the left side of a 4-3-3 formation, with the England international potentially available in 2022 as a result of his troubles at the Etihad Stadium, according to the source.
Meanwhile, Kounde was heavily linked with a summer move away from Sevilla, with Chelsea reportedly keen, but the Frenchman was ultimately priced out of a move.
Barcelona has been linked with a loan transfer for Sterling, but because to their financial difficulties, which led to Lionel Messi’s departure during the summer, they may struggle to sign Kounde on a permanent deal.
